Cricket World Cup

For the 2007 Caribbean Circuit the cricket lovers amongst you will be able to revel in the lively atmosphere of the World Cup.  Matches are to be played out on various islands by the world’s best one-day teams.

A SIX WEEK ISLAND HOPPING ADVENTURE (MARCH - APRIL)

Our six week Caribbean Circuit is the ultimate blue water adventure and the sailing trip of a lifetime.  It provides the perfect opportunity to escape the British winter and head for the sun!  Whatever your level of ability the Circuit is ideal for working towards RYA qualifications and provides enthusiastic beginners with an unforgettable travelling experience.

Starting in Antigua, the centre of Caribbean sailing, we spend six weeks cruising from island to island benefiting from:

‘We sailed over 1200NM, had 22 overnight island stops, took seven day or part day island tours, made 18 short day stops, ate supper ashore on 10 occasions, spent 26 nights at anchor or on a buoy and finally we had three nights at sea.’

Keith Turgoose, Caribbean Circuit

• The enviably consistent trade winds.
• Exhilarating passage between the BVI’s and Grenada.
• Anchoring in breathtaking tropical lagoons.
• Basking in the sunshine.
• Plenty of snorkelling and fishing.

When ashore discover the varied French, British and Afro Caribbean island cultures, enjoy the exotic wildlife and take in the picture perfect views of volcanoes, waterfalls, mangroves and rain forests.  Make the most of barbecues on palm fringed, white sand beaches while forging new friendships and listening to live reggae.

The trip is an excellent Yachtmaster preparation programme (bearing in mind it is non-tidal) with many Yachtmaster Offshore qualifying passages and intensive yacht management and leadership training.

WHAT'S THE PLAN?

The adventure begins when you board our yacht in Jolly Harbour.  Often the first few days are spent becoming familiarised with the yacht, stowing the provisions and exploring the island.  We will then set sail and aim to visit up to twenty islands including:
• Antigua
• Virgin Islands
• St Bart’s
• Dominica
• The Grenadines
• Grenada
• St. Lucia
• Bequia
• Nevis
While underway duties are shared amongst the crew. Each day a different person acts as skipper while the others get ‘stuck in’ with the various galley and house keeping task. Most nights will be spent at anchor using the tender to reach land.

For a further insight into those that have, ‘gone before’ don’t miss the ‘Quotes from the Boats’ and ‘Shots from the Yachts’ on our NONSTOP Sail website gallery.
